Marinades?

Does anyone know how much marinade a peice of meat soaks up?? I'm always so torn on what to put when I marinate chicken. I love chicken with Yoshida and I just pour a little on top of a lot of chicken, and with the chicken juices after its cooked theres a ton of liquid in the baking dish, yet I have no idea how much the chicken actually contains
Has anyone done experiments or has a good guess?

    kroger, if you have one there in your area has these 30 min ones. 1 tbls is 25 calories, I just used them tonight for our steaks. I put at least 2 tbls in a zip lock bag, soak for 2 hours or so, comes out great
