too much exercise, not enough calories?

How is it possible to get a net calories of 1200+ when you burn almost a thousand per day in exercise?! I had to force myself to keep eating all day even though I wasn't hungry, and I'm STILL not there. My net is about 900. Is this okay? Will this put me in starvation mode if done consistently? I plan on exercising this much at least three times per week, but I don't want to be depriving myself. Any thoughts?
