Scale Shock

So for the past 2 and a half weeks since I joined here I didn't own a scale. So I was guesstimating my weight and such. Today we picked one up because I was curious and ... well, I weigh more than I guesstimated :( Now I know I've done really well the past 2 and a half weeks so I know I've lost weight over the past 2+ weeks because I feel better and look better already... but it's kinda hard having to change my goals a bit and come to terms with my actual weight now that I own a scale.

And I realize that things like time of the month (which it is) will affect that weight a little and I also am not going to be a slave to my scale since really to me it's more about how I feel and how my clothes feel rather than obsessing about exact numbers, but... I can't help it's a little depressing.

*hugs*

Thanks for listening :)

i completely understand - i started here back in April and didnt get a scale until about start of July:noway:
so nervous when i stepped on, and was shocked becasue of how much weighed, and i knew i had been losing weight - as you said the fit of my clothes and you could just tell about your own body
but ever since then i maintain it has been the wisest investment i've made to a better healthier me, as has been my tape measure - love that thing! - and my new small food scales - i always thought i was a kinda accurate with my measurements until i got that:noway:
    kudos to you!:flowerforyou:

I feel you on the scale-I always feel like I am smaller than the number listed on the scale! And then that time of the month...gosh it seems like I hold inordinate amounts of water! I can always tell, because then my stomach way sticks out and I think to myself there is no way I am getting on the scale! Consquently, I don't weigh myself every week.

ya, I kept saying when we bought it today that I shouldn't even think about weighing myself this week because of that, but... of course having it in the house was too much for me and I just HAD to see. :\ I'll try again next week once this has passed and see if it makes me feel better :) So far I've not given in to any of the normal cravings that tend to go hand-in-hand with this week, so here's hoping!
