With all of the discussions on sugar and carbs (complex and simple) - where does Rye bread fit into the equation? Is it more akin to simple or complex? The rye I enjoy is Arnold select it contains both unbleached enriched wheat flour and rye flour and plain sugar (no HFCS) - I am guessing simple - but would like more information - thanks!! I also like the wasa light rye crispbread as well...any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Rye bread is Low GI and therefore slow-releasing sugars - so I'd assume complex carbs, but I'm not sure about your brand as it contains sugar (not sure if regular Rye bread does!).

I did read that rye bread is one of the best out there for breads. here's a link I found with a lot of info on it:

We found a really good bread, that I just LOVE. I've been recommending it to all my friends: Ezekiel 4:9 All their products have been SO GOOD.
