So I made a thread in another forum about weight loss and, while on there, I decided to look for information on some good cardio exercises. I had found Leslie Sansone's line of Walk workout DVDs. I got one (Leslie Sansone's 5 Mile Fat Burning Walk) and did it for the first time last night. I enjoyed it. Felt kind of lame at first since, in my mind, aerobic videos are for women, but after a while I didn't even think about it.
I did all 5 miles first go--felt alright afterward. I went online to find out how many calories on average does someone burn with Leslie's videos. I punched it on Google and it led me to a link on this site. I browsed around and decided I would then join, so here I am.
I'm currently at 188lbs (Last weighed in Sunday, May 15th) and started dieting and exercising the ending of April at 198lbs. My goal's to be at 150lbs. That's 38lbs to go... I'm confidant that I can do it. I actually find dieting sort of fun now. Hopefully by late August I will be where I was at 21 (that was 6 years ago!)
I hate the food tracker on here--too tedious for me--but I do log my exercise. My plan is to work out 7 days a week with cardio for at least an hour. That's up'ing it from 4 days a week. On average with my weight, I think, I burn close to 400 calories with the Leslie Sansone DVD I have. So the way I see it 400 x 7 = 2,800 calories. That's almost 1 pound of fat! (80%, really) And with my dieting, that should be 2lbs. a week.
I tried the fad, crash diets. Oh I would lose the 12 pounds in two weeks but I couldn't keep it up. This plan, has worked and is successful--I'm successful. I'm here now to see other's experiences and plans and to be motivated. See you around the board.
