I have been doing Interval Walking and Running for about 9 months now and have definitely gotten BIG results from it! I've posted a great article about Interval Walking/Running on my blog and also have a "SAMPLE" workout designed by Jillian Michaels that can be done on the treadmill. Copy and paste the link below for more information on Interval Walking/Running:

Thank you!

Great job! I can't run anymore (prior injury with broken ankle) but I can walk....used to interval run/walk and it does do great. I have decided to try something like circuit/interval training by combining strength training broken up by interval sessions on elliptical. Curious to see how it works.

This post is on just what I have been thinking about. I am in the throws of the last weeks of the quarter but I want to ramp up after that and I want to go back to doing this. I usually walk around a lake though 2.8 miles. I have recently started Zumba on Fridays and figure if I can do that for an hour I can jog for longer than I realize.

I rarely run. I just don't enjoy it. But I do similar intervals on the stationary bike or elliptical. I think you can do intervals for pretty much any form of cardio. I like it because it gives me a chance to push myself without worrying about wearing myself out.. I burn more calories than I would if I just went at a steady pace.

So, if any of you are like me and hate running, yes, you can do intervals with other cardio exercises and get results.

Wow, I just did your Interval Run that you posted. It completely wiped me out. I usually try to run 4 miles, and this run was 10x harder than any of those runs. Great find!!! Thank you!

You're welcome!! It's a great workout....designed by Jillian Michaels, you know it's gonna kick your butt!! lol When I first did her workout, it really challenged me and I consistently do it now. Since I've been doing it more, I have increased my running times and decreased my walking too...but either way, it really does work you hard!!

Yes, you're exactly right! Jillian Michaels also has an Interval workout for the Elliptical and Stationary Bike.

Try it...you will like it a lot and you don't have to do a long workout. You'll burn more calories in a shorter amount of time.

When I first started out, I walked for 3 min and ran for 3 min outside or on the treadmill. Now I am doing it mostly on the Treadmill and following an Interval Workout designed by Jillian Michaels.

I have it posted on my blog at: www.kimsjourneytoahealthierlife.blogspot.com (Under the Interval Workouts tab)

Yep! Same here...LOVE the treadmill now....and I usually do about a 50-60 minute workout consistently about 4x/week (about every other day).
