You don't want to get up and run? Don't feel like biking today? Wanna take a bus instead of walking?
Well, listen to this:
My knee is swollen due to overtraining, so I can't do ANY cardio that involves legs, which is, basically, every type of cardio.
The thing is - I would literally do ANYTHING to be able to run. When I am not able to run or in-line skate, I started thinking how much I miss those sweaty workouts.
When I'll recover, I'm gonna start appreciate my morning runs. SO...
PLEASE, APPRECIATE YOUR CARDIO WORKOUT, PEOPLE.
Stop whining, because I'd kill to go outside and run instead of you.
Have a wonderful, full-of-cardio day ( :

Yes, those people whining about cardio, feel lucky you can whin. I too overtrained and hurt my knee and now cannot do any aerobic exercise. My therapist said I can ride a stationary bike so I will have to buy one of them and keep icing and taking pain killers until this passes. Keep up your chins all those with knee injuries. It seems counter productive to get in shape with exercise and then have to see it all lost in injury.0

I feel the same as you. I'm DYING for a dripping sweat cardio session, but I'm on limited cardio due to a broken foot (last week). C'mon and heal already!!!0

I'll run a little extra just for you today ;-)0

Fell down a flight of stairs yesterday.
Can barely walk.
And yet, I'm whining over loss of a C25K day, instead of the pain.
I just want to run!! [:0 -
i loveeeee cardio and am addicted to running =D0

Thanks for the reminder. I should be thankful and appreciate my whole body for all its abilities and stop being so critical of it regardless of its size. Thank you.0

Try to enjoy your time off!0

I hear ya! I danced too hard the other day and have been paying for it since! Ankle and shin......
My resting heart rate is so low, that to get an increase to a cardio zone is next to impossible without moving the legs....
ok whining over for now - I feel better :laugh:0 -
I trail run 3/4 times a week (avatar photo is the location.) I love my runs and appreciate them every time. I run early AM with two of my dogs so I get to watch them run and swim in the river and I watch the sun come up over the river - ok, this is making me want to run and I just ran this morning. Sorry you are currently unable to run. I'll do a sprint for you!0

My cardio of choice is quad skating, but I've got a dodgy Achilles due to an overly tight calf (or vice-versa, they don't seem to be sure) and therefore I can't do much more than walk at the moment.0

Nice post and reminder to everyone. I had my ACL replaced a few years ago which put me out for months and in physical therapy. It really puts things into perspective!0

Been there before too. Due to training over the years with martial arts I had suffered some doozies. I severed my ACL that required surgery back in 2006. Until surgery I modified my weight lifting and training to allow me to continue but after the surgery I could do nothing. All the times I had felt I wanted to take a break or quit, I realized I actually would have hated myself for that and LONGED to get back at it. And again held up when crushing my C6 & C7 and then again with my C5 & C6 vertebra.
I've been working out over 13 years and all the times I feel that "big break" or "hate doing this" feeling, I call upon those times and push past it. And times like those makes me "re-evaluate" what I'm doing and change things up to make things more exciting so I want to continue to do it.
Rarely does anything good come easy; it has to be worked at. Put in the time and reap the benefits.0
