Activity Question

So, kinda curious about the activity levels. I currently work a job that sits between the lightly active and sedentary. There are days when I am at my desk most of the day and then there are days I am walking between my lab bench and culture room. However, I also run 4 times a week for a total of around 17 miles as well do kendo (Japanese fencing) twice a week and Iaido(another Japanese sword art) once a week. I currently have my activity level set at active, but I am wondering if that is right. I haven't really made any weight changes lately and recently have found myself with calorie surpluses lately. Dunno... Thoughts? Comments?

Good question... I wish I knew the definitive answer myself. Personally, I took it to mean what your activity level is WITHOUT exercise. So I probably wouldn't count the running or other stuff, but include it as exercise when you do it for the additional calories.

The activity level should be based on activity NOT counting exercise. So, if you aren't getting up and walking around at work for more then 30 minutes each day, I'd say it's sedentary and then log your exercise to get a more accurate calorie recommendation.

Thanks for the info. Lightly active it is. Now I just need to figure out how to eat more calories without going over carbs, fats and protein.
