Not a limit, but a minimum. More fiber is good!0

It means you went over your goal in fibre. I'm not sure why there is a limit, but I o over pretty much every day and I'm still losing weight.0

Women should get a minimum of 25 - 30g of fiber per day. You can manually change this goal in your settings.0

Think of it as a goal or a minimum, rather than a limit. Unfortunately MFP doesn't differentiate between the "limits" (like for sodium and saturated fats) and the "goals" or "minimums" like for fiber and protein.0

I don't pay attention to Fiber or Protein - I need more of both!0

lol...it's so you don't end up bloated, gassy and having accidents in your pants! too much of anything isn't good...lol...!!!!!0

Actually MFP's fiber recommendation is very low. Adults need 25-35 grams/day, regardless of calorie intake. On a 1300 calories/day diet, MFP puts my fiber much lower than that. It's unfortunate. Luckily, as someone else pointed out, you can go in and change this by customizing your goals.0 -
Too much fiber, oddly, can actually bind you up as well as make you go. Make certain you drink enough water. It is critical!0

First read this as "customizing your GOATS" and I thought, "cool."0 -
accountant boi...so what does that have to do with what i wrote? too much fibre is not healthy...it will speed up digestion before your body has a chance to process anything. you WILL get the runs, become bloated and gassy. ask any nutritionist.0

Well, the OP is asking why there is a limit on fiber in MFP. Your original response makes it sound like if you go over MFP's limit, you'll have problems. Yes, too much fiber isn't heatlhy, but the amount that constitutes "too much" fiber is MUCH higher than what MFP recommends, and MFP's recommendation is actually quite low, so people *should* be going over their MFP fiber "limit".
Edited to add - here are some references for what is a healthy amount of fiber:

thank you all so much for your replies. so its ok to go over it is just a goal to reach not a limit.0
