30 day fruit and veggie detox plan

I read this article http://www.freedomyou.com/recipes/fruit diet.htm about a fruit and veggie detox plan.. Your metabolism doesn't shut down because your eating almost all the fruit and vegetables you want. The detox diet is mostly fruit with two glasses of vegetable juice and some flax seed oil daily. The fruit cleanses your entire system.
If some of you are worried about the spikes in sugar, this is a quote from the article," According to the blood glucose response table given as a guide to diabetics, bread, beans, white potatoes, and brown rice all break down to glucose in the bloodstream more quickly than most fruit. White sugar has a less dramatic shock to blood sugar levels than whole wheat bread!" So I don't have to worry about sugar spikes.
I'm looking to take my body to the next level. I've lost 37lbs so far, but my gains have slowed down the last 6 weeks. Right now I eat about 40% raw fruits and veggies, the rest is non gm breads and rice, meat, eggs, cheese.. to name a few. So I am eating some dead foods. Some of you might be thinking, "well crazy diet plans or fades don't work or last.!!" I'm not looking to stay on this for more than 30 days. I probably wont last two weeks my first time. If I can cleanse out some of my colon, liver from all the junk and build up while giving my body and organs some rest, then this plan has done it's job!!! I am hoping to lose another 10bs as a bonus.
Check out the article and decide for yourself. I'm going to post updates on my page.

That thing about "your metabolism not being shut down" total lie. The thing about spike in sugar is true, it takes time for the sugar to convert to glucose.
The way you mentioned for a detox, I wouldn't go that way. Your metabolism will slow down. Metabolic shut down is due to muscle loss. What causes muscle loss, inadequate calories to support the muscle, or just atrophy from lack of use, also age.
You do need protein to help rebuild and maintain muscle mass, plus the detox you mentioned seems like a low calorie diet. I am not questioning the ability to detox, yes your body will detox, that's not the question, the question is, what would be the long term results?
Ask yourself this, "If i eat in this detox fashion, can i stick to it for the long term(the rest of your life)?" SO you don't gain the weight back, if you can't. forget about it, because once you regain your normal eating patterns, with loss of muscle mass(slow metabolism) you will gain more weight than before. Even if you eat the same amount of calories, because you have less muscle mass, and you can't burn off those calories like before. THat's why people gain more weight after they go off a diet.
They do sell detox kits, that are for like a week long. Check those out.0 -
To answer some of your comment asmcriminal. I'm going to eat as much fruit as I want, along with veggie juice and fatty oils. The fatty oils in my diet will help make up for the low calories. The veggie juice will also add some fast calories. I'm also going to workout to maintain my muscles and keep up my metabolism. Fruits and vegetables have more protein than you think.
Also what you read about eating tons of protein is over exaggerated to get people to buy more meat products, protein powders..etc.
On average, fruits have about 5% of their calories from protein. Vegetables have from 20-50% of their calories from protein. Sprouted seeds, beans, and grains contain from 10-25% of their calories from protein. So if you are eating any variety of living plant foods, you are getting more than adequate protein. Numerous scientific studies have shown the daily need for protein to be about 25-35 grams per day. So if you ate 2,000 calories per day, and ate raw plant foods that had an average of 10% of their calories from protein, you would get 200 calories worth of protein, or 50 grams. This is more than adequate to support optimal well-being. Other studies have shown that heat treating a protein (such as with cooking) makes about half of it unusable to the human body. So raw plant food protein is even a better source than cooked plant foods or animal foods.
When I do go back on normal foods, I'm going to cut back on my dead foods even more than I did before. My goal is to get off of dead foods and eat more live foods. You need to look into the benefits of raw vs dead foods.0 -
