Any opinions on the Gaiam 3.0 heart rate monitor? I'm just trying to find a basic one to use while doing my dvd exercises- they're so hard to categorize with MFP. This one retails $109.99 but there's a seller on ebay selling new ones (has a lot of ten) for $51.98 with $5 shipping and 7 days return policy. Whatdya think? I don't know anything about them but it looks like it does the basics without being too fancy and bonus... it's cute! Could wear it as a regular watch if nothing else ';o) I don't like all the ones out there that are really bulky and manish looking.

i know! That's what drew me to it of course. If nothing else it didn't cost a lot and it'll be a cute watch... but hopefully it'll be a decent HRM for my dvd workouts!
here's the ebay site: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290550407238&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT0 -

I would like to know the aswer too b/c I just bought one on ebay as well. The last one I had was a timex and I didn't care that much about it b/c of all the bells and whistels I just need something basit (even better that's cute) to help me with home workouts.0

So; i went ahead and bought this HRM despite the lack of opinions. And I'm glad I did- I'm super happy with it!! It comes with a chest strap, it's a cute watch, I love that to go between modes during exercise (timer, HR, fat grams burned, cals burned) you just tap the screen- no buttons to hit. It's really simple to use and as far as I know, accurate. It has a memory in it so you can save the workout if you want and if you do it'll add them together for a total (like say you're shooting for 3500/wk you can exercise daily, save each exercise and wait til you hit 3500 then clear the memory for the next week). The best part is it's fully functional as an HRM but it's a cute watch!
