Pleased to Meet You

Hi, I started MFP last summer, lost my resolve over the winter, and started up again a month ago. Somebody else wrote they do better with fitness issues over the summer and that's me, too. I have good motivation to meet my goals right now, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to need support when it starts getting into autumn; and the holidays are my waistline's nemesis.
I'm chronologically 60, but I don't feel or think I'm old, so psychologically I'm not.
My final weight loss goal is to get back to my weight in college AND STAY THERE. It seemed like a big stretch to think about as a single goal, so I divided it mentally into stages and just entered the first stage for now to keep the positive feedback from my success at a high level. I've dropped 14 pounds from my absolute worst; the first few came off quickly and now I'm settled in to losing somewhere between one and two pounds a week. It seems like patience and persistence are the keys to healthy results.
I do strength training with free weights for about 45 minutes three days a week. I also walk the dog, climb the stairs in the parking garage instead of taking the elevator, spend a good bit of time working outdoors on the weekends (when the weather cooperates), play a round of golf or two a week (walking), among other cardio stuff. I don't record any of it because I'm trying to stay within my calorie allowance and seeing the exercise calories netted off is too much temptation.
Anyway, that's enough about me. Like I said in the subject line, "pleased to meet you!".

Welcome. I have only been here a few days but am enjoying it. I like this online site but have never tried it before. It is very easy to follow. Good luck.0

Pleased to meet you! Stick with the program this time - MFP is so much better than "going it alone." Sounds like you're doing a great job with the exercise, so just keep logging everything & reading what other people have to say - keeps me motivated & occasionally makes me laugh out loud!! Much luck on your journey!:flowerforyou:0
