READ Exericse from a wheel chair need help with program

Ok friends one of my MFP friend "calmnj" has done a great job on his weight loss....he is confined to a wheel chair....he needs something he can do at home to get his heart rate up.....you fitness instructors out there should be able to help him the most so lets all get behind him....if you have any ideas please send him a message....thanks....remember dont post it here send him the idea's

    Punches with or without weights can be good cardio :)

    Search You tube...there are several workouts for upper body chair workouts.

    How about "boxing"?? He can still do punches and such with his arms and that would get his HR up. Also, doing the movements of either windmills or jumping jacks would work.
    I recently used this site:http://www.thewheelchairsite.com/exercise/ for patient teaching. They have some good ideas!!

    Check out the wounded warriors website, he might find some interested stuff there. Also TRX is doing alot with wounded warriors and they have some pretty cool tricks for the wheel chair. www.trxtraining.com.

    I agree, checking out the wounded warrior website is a great idea. Also, what about light upper body strength training? This can definitely help to get the heart rate up and the blood flowing.
