I have a scale and each day I weigh myself right before bed.
Is it normal that everyday I have a different number? it's like it goes up and down constantly.

Yup, it's normal. You might find a bit more consistency weighing in the morning not the evening, but really, weighing every day just gets frustrating!
Try weighing just once a week, that will give you a bigger picture view.

I think all of us on here fight the urge to weigh ourselves everyday, but the best time is in the morning, naked before you have consumed any food. The food during the day will change your weight until it is, um, expelled.

Oh that urge to weigh every day. I weigh every morning at approximately the same time. It's out of bed and onto the scale.

Yep the different foods you eat during the day affect your weight in various ways and fluxuations by the end of the day.

Im one of those people who weigh every day and don't let the number get to me because I keep a calendar and write my weight every week on my weigh in day and that is the only time I record my weight. then I can easily see the progress on the calendar. because .2 of a pound per day lost or even less adds up.

Any time that I see a number I don't like im usually like ok I had cookies yesterday or I just drank water or something like that to myself and im like it will be gone tomorrow if im good today.

I keep on seeing people upset because their weight isn't going down, or it's possibly going up. All this focus on pounds. It's just messes with your mind. Let me ask you this... lets say you set a goal weight to lose 30lbs... Takes you a few months but you finally achieved it. You look in the mirror and it looks like you lost nothing... HOw would you feel? What if on the other hand, The scale says you only lost 15lbs but you look fantastic... The mirror/pictures are what tell real results, don't focus too much on the scale. Weight fluctuates daily, As much as 5lbs a day

I weigh myself ever morning and it changes daily. Usually only by .2 to .4 of a lbs, then the next morning I will be down a full pound

Yes absolutely this philosophy! My weight has been up as much as 6 pounds in one day, then the next down 7. What we consume makes a huge difference in the scale and the true measure is in inches and how the clothes fit. Don't let that scale rule your life! If you know you are doing everything right, working out, keeping to your calorie goal and watching the sodium (it is the enemy btw) then rely on the changes in the mirror and your clothes. Great post and advise by asmcriminal!
