Hi, I have been counting calories and exercising since Feb 2011 and have lost 19lbs Yay...but for the last 3 weeks I seem to be stuck and the scales have not altered.

I have 1200 calories a day and drink approx 6 pints of water per day.
I go to the gym at least 3 times a week for 90 minute sessions which i do 60 mins of cardio and 30 mins of strength.

Every time i have eneterd my new weight in MFP it asks me if i would like to re set my goals as I have lost "10 lbs" and I never have reset my goals so do you think that I should?

I have at least another 21lbs to lose and i have taken my measurements which i am due to retake next week.

Any advice and help is appreaciated

I have at least another 21lbs to lose so i do appreaciate any advise.

  • Hi, I would try ZIGZAGGIN your Calories... I did and I got off my plateau I lost 3lbs last week and I havent lost anything for 3 weeks prior so, it works. ZigZaggin is Changing up the amount of calories you eat so on your hardest workout day eat more

    for example

    Mon 1200 calories
    Tues 1500
    Wed 1200
    Thurs 1500
    Fri 1200
    Sat 1500
    Sun 1200

Or Vice Versa.... It confuses your body and it help burn more and you lose weight =) So on your workout days eat more and on easy days eat less =) & drink lots of water, as from your posting you do =) I hope this helps xoxo caligirl

Try eating more for a couple of days, and be sure you're eating back your workout calories. Your NET calories on the home page should rarely be below 1200.

Also, mixing up your exercise can be a good way to break a plateau. If you normally do the elliptical and the same strength machines, try doing a bike or a new workout class for a week or two. Good luck!

Try making your largest amt of calories for breakfast and tapering off with the lowest amt for dinner which will give your body time to adjust before your morning weigh in.

I just came off a 3 1/2 week plateau and lost 7 pounds in 48 hrs.
