Hi Everyone,
I've been seriously working on my weight loss since Christmas and have lost 35lbs (yay!) but recently times have been stressful and I've been feeling a little flat, like it's all too much effort and that is definately showing in my diary.
So, I would love it if all you lovely people could give me a huge kick up the bum and remind me why this is worth doing! I want to hear all of YOUR reasons for losing weight and about the difference it's made your life.
Thank you!
Genie

You have 36 reasons that prove that doing this works! Everything gets stale at some point and it's hard to maintain the momentum. But if you stick with it, it'll get easier again. Go, go, go!0

Keep logging even if you feel like you are falling off the wagon. For me, this is the single most effective way to keep me on track.
Or do you need a bit of a holiday from low cal? I increased my calories by 100 last week because I was going away to a conference and I knew I would be eating out for every meal. To my surprise I lost half a kg in spite of eating more (I did keep up my exercise routine).
Oh, and my reason's for wanting to lose weight, well there are lots of them:
- so I don't look at the next lots of holiday photos with horror at how big I look
- so I have more spring in my step and can crawl under a table to plug in a power cord without hurting and groaning
- to lose my "baby weight" (I ate myself out of a depressed state after a miscarriage but eventually decided that if I didn't have a baby, I sure as hell wasn't going to have baby weight!)
- to reduce my risk of diabetes and heart attack, so I can live a long and enjoyable life with my lovely husband.
I've lost 13kg (29 lb) so far and feel so much better, I really do have more bounce in me
(Edited to add: your food diary looks pretty damn good to me, don't be so hard on yourself!)0 -
You've worked so hard, don't give up! I know from personal experience that you do not want to add weight to your weight loss ticker. Everybody has moments where they feel defeated, you are not defeated. Pick yourself up by your boot straps and remember why you wanted to lose weight in the first place. If that reason no longer applies, then find a new one! You can do it! You deserve it!  :bigsmile:0

I did the same as you a few weeks back but if you keep logging, and keep vowing to be good, it will come back. I'm now back down to my lowest weight since starting on MFP back in November and totally into it again. I find taking exercise helps- if I do a strenuous workout in the gym I feel completely 'high' and motivated when I get home, and that's the best kick up the bum I can get. Also, if you have a specifi item of clothing you want to fit, or a specific occasion to look forward to, or just an old photo of yourself slimmer, put this picture somewhere where you can see it regularly. Great motivation
Good luck!0 -
Thanks for your support everyone.0

I love that you used the word Bum I have too many reasons to list, I think the most important is that I'm tired of despising myself. I am my own worst critic, and sometime that meant me standing in front of the mirror saying horrible things to myself. I would never do that to someone else... and I don't want to do it to myself anymore. I'm ready to love me0

Thats a really good reason :-D The word bum should be used more often.0
