Jogging speed help

Hi everyone,
I'm training to run the race for life for cancer research UK and I'm using their training program to build up my fitness. I'm having difficulties with judging what speed I should be running at. I currently run on my treadmill at a speed of 6, thats not the km per hour, just the difficulty setting.
The training program is telling me that I should be able to do 3.8 Km jogging for 30 minutes, this seems way too fast for me, does anyone have any idea what sort of speed setting I would have to be jogging at to achieve this? I'm not even jogging at setting 6, it's fast enough to make me run not jog, and I'm knackered after 30 minutes and have only achieved 3K.
I would just like to know a target speed to achieve 3.8Km in 30 minutes really.
Thanks,
Laura

im hoping I've understood your question correctly! 3.8km in 30 minutes is 7.6km per hour. That is just under 5 miles per hour.
Are you looking to work out the setting to make the treadmill run at 5 miles per hour or are you looking at ways to train which is designed to increase your speed by the time you reach the race?0 -
Running Training is gradual...it is all about building the stamina gradually....I started @ abt 9 KMPH for 20 odd mins..Now I run about 11.5 KMPH for 25 mins, and now on HIIT running for 25 mins...and just hit 5K in 30 mins (with cool down) for 1st time y'day.
Believe me it toook lot of time, patience and motivation.....so, be patient and do gradually - what your body allows, and not what someone or something else says. Know your goal and listen to your body - you will be there one day.

Hey all,
Thank you for your replies, I'm just back from the gym and I tried to keep my pace under 7.5km hr in order to meet my goal.
I realized that I have been an entire idiot and have been running for the last 5 weeks in Miles per hour setting instead of metric KM, so no wonder I was freaking out, as I was trying to achieve 5miles in 30 minutes. I feel really stupid, thank you for your help though anyway I really appreciate it.
I guess I've been pushing myself more than I've had to because of my mistake in the units! I ran 5km today in 35 minutes...my stupidity paid of in the end I guess!!0
