Mine will just not turn on when I put the armband on. It syncs with the computer, but logs the time as off-body. I've tried moistening the skin, putting it on the other arm, syncing it, cleaning it, leaving it off for a few hours, leaving it on... No luck. I've sent an e-mail to customer support (*fingers crossed* - I've read bad news about them...) but have any other users had this problem and what did you do?

It almost made it a full week... I just got it last Friday... :P

Are you giving it enough time to "sense" you? Sometimes mine can take up to 5 minutes before it turns on. Is it fully charged? Is the armband tight enough? What are you cleaning it with?

Personally, I've always had wonderful, fast, courteous responses and solutions from their customer support.

I do hope you get it resolved, I love my BodyMedia!
  • First of all you should never add moisture to your skin where your armband is. I don't know what kind of moisture you have been adding to it but that could of killed the sensors in it. It can actually take up to 10 minutes for the BMF to turn on once you put the armband on. I've had mine for months and never had an issue with it. You could of gotten a bad armband but if you are moistening the skin under the armband you may have killed the sensors.

As far as contacting customer service they are awesome! One of the best ways of contacting them is to call them though. You will get much better help over the phone.

    Good luck!

It says to "lightly moisten" the skin, which is what I tried, just with water. I clean the device with a moist cloth and dry completely before wearing it again, as instructed in the User Guide. I've worn it for over an hour without it turning on. REALLY hoping I didn't kill the sensors, since I was following what BodyMedia told me to do!

I'm glad to hear you both have had good experiences with customer services, that makes me feel a bit better. :)

I usually put mine on right after I shower and a quick towel dry, so I doubt that water will hurt it any!

Let us know what you find out, I'm curious!:flowerforyou:
  • I guess I should also mention that it stopped working after I synced it last night. Wondering if that has anything to do with it? Software bug? I'm about to go to work and I hate to leave it home, but as it's not going to do me any good... :(

Did you unplug it before it was done?? Did you try again?

I know my gets nutsy (lights flashing, beeping) if I plug it into my usb before it has turned itself off.......
  • Yes, I've synced it several times, left it plugged in for about an hour, too. Guess I'll just wait and see, hopefully CS has a solution.
  • Well dang! I've NEVER EVER used any kind of moisture on mine... LOL If that's what they say to do then it must be something else Call tech support. THEY ARE GREAT AND WILL BE ABLE TO HELP YOU OUT I'M SURE!
