Evening time meals/family fun

Something for ev1 to think about with the nicer weather moving in and families planning more outside time in the evenings, when and what you eat for dinner is really important. Will you consume more of your calories earlier in the day and have a light dinner or will you eat dinner earlier before spending the extra daylight hours outside?

I'm interested to see your thoughts on this.

I eat more at dinner than I do for breakfast and lunch; however, my family eats before 6pm if we can and in the evening we go for walks in the neighborhood and play with the kids and yard outside.

We usually eat dinner quite early, around 5pm as we all eat together regardless of the time of year. Dinners in the summer time tend to be lighter affairs with plenty of fresh salad. In the winter in Scotland I crave stodgy foods - now is a great time for lighter meals and lots of evening walks :)

We do a lot of BBQ-ing the summer, but you can eat just as healthy, if not healthier, with BBQ-friendly foods. Do some research on healthy grilling to get some ideas.

As for alcohol, I stick to wine spritzers or skinny margaritas (Baja Bob makes a nice mix, or you can make your own with fresh lime juice and Sprite Zero).
