I have been working out everyday this past week, eating well...and still only lost .8 lbs!! .8??!!

I know it's slow and steady, but dang. My eating habits were horrible up until last week and I was excercising, so I thought that at least this first week I would see a huge loss just because of that fact.

Is it normal to see such a slow loss in the beginning?

After being on this journey since Dec and losing 41 pounds, I will tell you that you should be very very happy!! I've had weeks here I've gained and weeks where i've not lost anything. At this point, I'm happy with .8. Really, seriously. Don't stress, next week may be huge. Just work as hard as you can and eat as healthy as you can and you will be fine

    are you tracking your sodium?

it could be water weight. it could be that you are losing fat but gaining muscle. it could just be a slow start.
you're going great though! Dont feel discouraged! I seen a 6 pound GAIN last week- talk about depressing!!! ha ha

That's almost a pound, which is a healthy weight loss. There will be weeks when you loss a lot and others when you don't lose anything. Be thankful for all your losses and don't give up. You will get there.

Since we are all so different . . . for some this is normal. Why are you upsest though? The scale DID move in the right direction didn't it? I would consider this a sucessful week if I were you.

When I started my jorney I wrote my "anticipated" weight on each monday of my office calendar, showing a 2 pound loss each week. Mid year I was feeling discouranged as I had a number of weeks that I didn't lose, or lost very little. I pulled out my calendar and much to my surprise I was the EXACT weight I had anticipated that week!!!!! Some weeks you lose more, some less, some none at all . . . but if you keep up your determination to be healthier it will come with time.

Give yourself the gift of some patience!!!

Now in saying this also remember to drink at least 10 glasses of water each day, don't eat at least 2 1/2 hours before bed, get your calories with "clean" and healthy food only, get at least 7 hours of sleep each night, and exercise for at least 30 minutes per day . . . even if it is just a walk. Remember that if you exercise intensively you will need to adjust your calories that day as the scale will likely halt moving if you don't.

Good luck . . . you can do it!
