Do or don't?

I've been on it for a while; and don't have the icky symptoms that they really advertise (but pretty loose movements!!!).

Opinions?

you don't need drugs, and you DON"T want the uncontrollable oily flatulence (you will crap your pants) that Alli causes!

No thanks! I would rather do it myself.... just like everything else, in a few years there will be lawyer commercials talking about lawsuits having to do with complications with Alli. I'll pass!

I wouldn't, but then I think you have to have a min BMI of 28 to be allowed it anyway. But no. Not with the side effects.

I've been on it for about 6 weeks, and like you, I don't have any bad symptoms. And I don't even have loose stool. The problem is that we (you and I) don't have an easy way to tell how effective it is. Is the weight loss because of the diet and exercise, or is Alli helping, like it claims?

I do know that I have been losing a lot of weight, and that means I am not going to stop taking it. I have a long way to go, and Alli certainly isn't hurting me. They have done tests showing that using Alli helps more than just diet and exercise alone, so I figure I'll go with it.

Just my two cents, I'm sure you're going to see 20 posts from people who think it's the worth thing ever because "ewwww gross!"

Uhm I say no... Anything that alters the way your body works normally is bad.

Nutrition, and exercise is the only way to do it!

NO!! It messes up the absorption of your foods. Also...what is going to happen when you stop taking it? If you don't learn to eat the right way you won't lose weight any way. You don't need to depend on a pill to lose weight. Alli isn't something you can take forever. However, a lifestyle change is forever. Go with the lifestyle change and ditch the Alli! You can do this without the aid of a pill, your really can!

I wouldn't do it. If we don't eat the bad, oily, unnatural food...we don't need drugs like Alli to keep our bodies from absorbing them. Best of luck to you. Healthy eating and excercise is the only way to good health and a fit body! Best wishes!

Why use a drug that is completely, 100% unnecessary? If you plan your meals and snacks ahead of time, and make sure you're eating healthy, there's no reason you need Alli. Plus, I hate that alli makes it seem like fat is the enemy. Fat isn't the enemy. Healthy fat is an important component of a good diet. Eating too many carbs is just as much (if not more) of a problem than eating too much fat for most people. In fact, you could take alli but overdo it on carbs and not lose any weight (or gain) because you've still got too high of a calorie intake.

I've been there and done that..after about a month and a half I was gassy-farty-smearing-diarrhea-all yucky......:embarassed: it did help me lose some weight...like 10lbs. But witihin mths of finishing taking it...I was right back up the 10lbs and constipated. I'm much happier doing it the good old fashioned way of eating right and moving my fat *kitten*!

I don't trust Alli. Anything that alters the way your system will absorb nutrients worries me. There is already high correlations between what passes/doesn't pass through your gut and cancers.

I would say NO unless you are going to wear Depends for the little "accidents" that come with it...read this hilarious yet informative post for more details.
