To those who follow a vegetarian diet, there are not a ton of role models out there in the athletic world to look up to. I'm even doing P90X right now, and there is no guideline for vegetarians to get the recommended amounts of protein. BUT, I found an article online today about vegetarian athletes!

    Thanks!

Roman gladiators were all vegetarian. Apparently it made them fight better.

In an ironic twist, Tony Horton is a vegetarian and he's the man of P90X! funny right? I"m a triathlete vegetarian and do not struggle with getting enough protein.

Thanks for the link. I'd like to see some of their menus, especially while in training, to get some ideas. Right now I use soy, nuts, various grains and some dairy like greek yogurt to get my proteins. I've been a lacto-ovo vegetarian for 25 years and have great health - just hoping to lose the 20 (pound-a-year) that's crept onto me. Sugar is my greatest nemesis!
