Calories burned for plumbing, remodeling, dishwashing...

I didn't see an entry for a number of topics in the exercise database. How many calories would you burn if you were doing pluming, remodeling, light/heavy construction, dish washing (by hand) and putting dishes away, or car/truck repair??? How do you calculate the points for those? Can we get those in the database?

All of those usually can get me to sweat and all wore out. Even the dish washing can cause a sweat because I stack up large loads and there is quite a bit of darting around the kitchen and kneeling, stretching (to reach a shelf), carrying/holding things that need put away, and scouring kitchen surfaces.

Heck, you might even want to put one in there for furniture/product assembly. I know a lot of people who can get all wore out (not to mention frustrated) by putting together a bike or grill from Sears, or putting together a bookshelf from Ikea. Surely a lot of calories are burned off doing that (if only from frustration).

Well, I guess it depends how often you wash dishes, but I assume such activity is accounted for in my basic daily calorie allowance.
I don't count regular cleaning, hanging out the washing, cleaning the car (oh, who am I kidding, all I do is get the bucket and bring my husband a beer!!) either ,as these are all stuff I was doing before.

The only time I add in extra cals is if I actually exercise (like walk longer than one bus stop or go for a run or cycle or walk) or if I'm doing something unusual at work like setting up a conference exhibit where I might be lifting, carrying, reaching, bending, climbing etc for up to an hour or two.
I don't think every specific activity needs to be in the database, if you feel like you are working over and above your regular daily activities then you can add in "cleaning" or "moving" - I usually only count about half the time as the calories seem to high for the exertion I'm putting in.
  • Im not sure if it will have all the ones you want but the website caloriecount.com has a list of daily activities included
