I hope this isn't a stupid question, but I just don't know the answer to this.:embarassed: I bet this question was already asked:frown:
Is there a such thing as too much water? Is it bad for me to have 11 glasses of water a day?

I drink way more than 11 glasses of water a day. I think that as long as you don't have any other health problems that would require you to limit fluids, you are fine! Your body needs that water, especially if you are exercising / sweating.0

There is a such thing as to much water, you can google water intoxication...in which the kidneys are working over time, and essentially flushing out the "good stuff" however, that being said... in order to get to "too much water" it will take MUCH more than 11 glasses a day... on a regular day, I drink about 120oz of water, if not more... so you'd have to be drinking an insane amount of water to reach the point of having too much water!
Water is your best friend, DRINK UP! {_}oo{_} Cheers!0 -
I'm no expert, but here's what I've been told and it makes sense to me:
Everyone should try to drink at least eight cups of water per day (for general health) but you can customize to your weight. Take your weight in pounds, divide it in half and that is the total number of ounces you should drink.
So, a 200 pound person should drink 100 ounces or 12.5 cups.
Another way to gauge is the color of your urine. If it's clear, you may be overhydrated. If it's at least slightly yellow, you're fine.
It's also important to make sure you're sipping, not chugging, your water so the body can properly process it.0 -

I was feeling good until I read your last sentence
I had no idea that chugging your water was bad. I’m such a dope. I know about what foods I should eat and what kind of exercise I should do, but I don’t know crap about water.
Thank you all for giving me some water education!0
