Why doesn't MFP calculate strength training into burned calories?

I'm beginning my Strength Training Today,
    very light,

I'm going to wear my Garmin Forerunner 305 HR watch and just use the calories off that.
I'm not sure how to calculate it either.

    Any ideas?

Enter "strength training" in the cardio section. If you do a circuit with little or no breaks enter "circuit training"

The strength training sections is just to chart your progress. MFP cannot calculate cals burned from that as it has no idea how long, or hard you are working based on the info. If someone that can bench 300 lbs, benches 100, they will not work hard at all, but someone else may push as hard as they can to do 100, the one pushing hard will burn much more even though the weight is the same.

You can add strength training under cardio and it will give you a rough estimate of calories burned. It's so hard to judge it because it depends on the intensity, rest between sets, weight used, etc.
