I'm here because I've been struggling with my weight since I had my daughter (she's 6.5 now). I'm a 33yr old sahm (but I do work part time on the weekends). I currently weigh 170 lbs and just got a prediabetes diagnosis...this doesn't make me happy. So I've decided that I have to get serious now. I have a chance to change things and be healthy and that is what I'm going to do! So I will be logging all of my stuff starting today. I will just be starting to change my diet. I got my diagnosis Mon. and took a few days to face reality. I can't wait to see what making these changes will do for me.

  • Your going to be just fine. You have realized through your doctor that you have Pre D and by knowing it is going to allow you to make a health plan. You can change your eating habits and try not to look at it as a diet. Diets only make you hungry . :)

    You can do this.

    Come up with a plan and then remember we all fall down and we only fail if we do not get back up.

    Your going to be great.

    I lost 120 pounds 13 years ago, Between then I gained 20 and recently took that back off. This website is the key component as to why I am able to keep it off. It makes me concious and shows me what I am eating.

    Good luck on your journey! I've been using MFP for almost 2 years and even now that I am in "maintenance mode" I still log in every day and record my food intake and exercise. It's a lifelong journey, it doesn't just stop when you reach your goals. Keep that in mind, and you will be sucessful!!!!

    Thank you all!!! Glad to see this is such a supportive community. I'm definitely glad that I get a chance to be proactive and make some changes before things get any worse. I'm going to take full advantage of it!
