bumping on yours to see the answer. I am always sooo tempted to click on it, but knowing my luck it is a virus or some damn pop up I will NEVER get rid of. I eat bananas almost every day. They better not be bad for you!0

Come on, it's one more scam/diet/don't eat this food gimmick.
Bananas have a good amount of sugar, and any sugars increase insulin production, which can lead to adipose fat production when you have too much of it.
NO ONE FOOD will stop you from losing weight, nor help you lose weight.
Just don't have three bananas a day. :noway:0 -
I ate bananas throughout my whole weight loss journey!!! and still lost 22lbs0

Thanks for all the answers about bannans0

That link is an add. Not sponsored at all by MFP, it just comes up a lot because of the content on the site
btw, I clicked on it a looooooong time ago (not from MFP, but before) ... It's the same as the 1 exercise for skinny abs and a whole lot of other ones. It tells you nothing except how good their program is and why you should buy into it ... literally, you have to pay out the nose to even get any info.
So just ignore it.

If you're talking about the one that pops up on this site often, with a banana as the main image...it's actually all pretty accurate information to be honest. Feel free to click the link...there is no virus...it takes you to a very informative video which gives you all the tools you need to for the most part begin your own program for yourself...then towards the end tries to sell you on their premade, day by day instruction program, including recipes etc. The girl is a very accomplished certified nutritionist, and lives by her plan every day.
I've happily incorporated some of her information into my own diet...to my weight loss benifit. But I did NOT pay the premium for the full program lol.

I saw that too. This morning. Then I had a banana and cottage cheese for a snack and was thinking "that add said not to eat bananas. Should I eat this?" I did anyways.. figured it was a bunch of hog wash.0

Also, if I recall (and I don't clearly), nowhere in the video does it say bananas are bad for you lol. It may have...but if so I don't recall.sugars increase insulin production, which can lead to adipose fat production when you have too much of it.
THIS is the entire point of their program...and it's accurate. However, they go into a bit more detail in the video.

I eat bananas all the time!! I mostly cut em up into my Frosted Flakes once in a while.0

Yes it is just an ad, no big secrets. Just stick with everything in moderation and realize that healthy foods like bananas, peanut butter and the such also may have high calories. It is all a balancing act.0

Hi, I started on Weds and I love it because helps u track carbs. For me, they r a problem..The 5 things u should never eat is a link is about a diet plan. I've seen it before it has a long video and I logged out of it..Still don't know what the plan is..Don't want to know! I'm also living in NJ, northern and am planning to move back to California next yr..I like this site better than WW..It doesn't cost $40+ a month and I can track carbs, proteins and fats..WW doesn't do that. Best of luck!!0

You're so right, and on the new WW Points Plus all fruit, including banana's have no points..Congrats...0

I'm replying to myself, but I just realized after getting on the scale after 3 days journaling all my food on this site and gained 3 lbs!!! Of course, I'm upset but realized this site has my carb count for the day at 188!!! That is crazy, way too high...I will continue to post my food but keep my carbs around 70...I found an old food plan that had a chart, protein 100 grams, carbs 70, and fats 40..That may seem spartan for some but I have to try it..This is not telling anyone to follow this..I will report back..And those in the NY area who have been bombarded with ads in the papers about the world ending at 6pm today, I May or May Not report back later................0

yeah I think I re ply to my self on face book, but not sure. Thanks all for the info about bannanas.
And it looks like all is loossing puond by pound on this free sight.
Now Ill have to find a a place to post a subject for smothie and all food resipees0 -

When you start a new diet plan, particularly one that advocates eating more food to properly nourish your body, you will often gain a couple pounds very quickly as your body adjusts. Particularly if your previous way of eating was rather spartan as you put it.
3lbs in 3 days seems pretty normal to me.0 -
Thanks for that soothing info about starting a eating plan and ones body adjusting and gaining 3 pounds is not earth-shattering..Got on the scale this am, and lost 2 of it..Thanks again..and my keeping my carbs to 70 is not going to work!!! I remember that diet plan I got those figures from was from a weight loss doctor I went to yrs ago who gave "vitamins" to help with weight loss..Remember those doctors! Anyway, I will follow the WW points plus plan and use the journaling tool on this site, which I like much better than WW online..Its easier and has more info..I'm so glad I stumbled upon this site, nice people great tools..Its a journey for most people, we'll have our ups and downs and its comforting to know their are people who will be there...Thanks again..oh, and I also eat a small banana every morning before going to the gym or PT..had a knee replacement 6 months ago and still dealing with it..glad I only have two knees since they're both replaced now! All the Best!0

I did click on it. I listened to 30 minutes full of how they will explain to you exactly what foods go best with what others. What carbs to mix with what proteins. What dairy and how much and how often. They say they will send you this revoluntionary new diet structure plan so you can eat all you want all your life and as long as you do it in the right way with the right combinations, you will lose weight naturally and without exercise.
Then if you do buy the plan which comes with DVDs, charts, books and everything except a new pair of jeans! You get upsold to purchase a list of other added options. Guess What? They never deliver your order!!! You're credit card is charged and your money is gone! Yep! That's right! I did it and paid for the whole damn plan. Sounded great and I wanted to know how to eat right instead of trying to diet all the time.
I have since read up on this from the Better Business Bureau and sure enough, they have received thousands of complaints. Yet, here it is, advertised on our very favorite workout and weight control tool Fitness Pal. Maybe MyFitnessPal should dig into this and get this rip-off advertisment off of their site so their patrons can avoid my mistake.
That's my Rant. Have fun and do it on your own. You don't need gimmicks. Just get started and keep moving!
