I haven't been on here since I signed up, I am 5'4 187 pounds. I was anorexic in middle school. After having a baby and being 5 1/2 months post baby I am still huge. I am struggling to not return to my anorexia.. I am not really sure of what to do to refrain from that. I am not good at diets I hate eating the same thing every day I would just rather not eat at all. i don't have too much time to work out seeing as I work and go to school and take care of my daughter. I really need help and advice. what do I do. I want to be an example for my daughter and starvation in going to hinder me from that.. I don't know where to turn..

thank you in advance!

Worst thing to do is get into the rut of "oh now that i have a baby, I have no time anymore". Invest in a rolling stroller! Put your child in it and just walk. Your baby will love the sensory stimulation of going new places, and you will be out and about burning calories. Start by walking, and sure enough you will be running. Great way to get in shape with a baby!

With a history of anorexia, I would suggest seeing a doctor to help develop a weight loss plan. That way he/she can guide you along in a way that will be healthy for your body.

go to a therapist because honestly the only answers your going to hear on a random post online is going to either judgement, or pitty. and...uhm...some therapist can be extremely stupid too so don't sell yourself short and shop around.
maybe talk to your family and friends that knew you when you were anna and ask them to keep an eye out...or even better, ask them to join the site and set your diary so that everyone can see it and log in everything

as long as your getting to your max or going over by a 100 then your health will thank you.

I was anoroexic/bulemic for years and was in recovery for about 6 years before I had my first child. It is very difficult to find the right mindset and deal with a totally different body. I found a great therapist that helped me work through the body image issues and then started running 4 times a week. Can you stick your baby in a stroller and get out for a jog/walk a few times a week. Please make sure you are eating enough to keep your energy going. Try and focus on being healthy for your baby. The weight will come off as time goes on. Stay strong.

well first off, welcome back and good for you reaching out! What you really need to remember is this isnt dieting. Its healthy living. And I rarely eat the same things over and over. That is what some people do that are afraid to explore other options. There is TONS and TONS of different varieties of great food check out other successful people on here, add them as friends and ask their advice. Same goes for the exercise. If you REALLY want to lose it....you will find a way to do it. No matter how busy I am I find a way. I think if you find excuses to not do this the right way then you wont do it the right way. Instead of thinking "I cant" think "how can I?"

    Good luck to you!

I know it sounds cliche, but a therapist can really help. My mom has been struggling with body image and various eating disorders (both under-eating and over-eating) for her entire life. She started seeing a therapist, and he helped her see the things that started her problems and help her deal with them. She has healthily (on here) lost 75 pounds in the last year and a half. She doesn't see the therapist regularly anymore, but if she finds she's struggling, she makes another appointment. It has been so helpful for her.

I can't agree more! I had the same ED in high school. I haven't starved myself in about 4-5 years and as a result have gained about 75 pounds. I have a 2 year old daughter and know that I need to eat to stay alive, not only for myself, but for her. If you follow the plan MFP gives you, you will lose weight the healthy way. And who says you have to eat the same thing everyday? Make a weekly menu for yourself with an assortment of different things. There are tons of useful websites that have low-cal recipes! In addition to eating right, I would try to seek some kind of therapy. Therapy did wonders for me and meeting with a nutritionist helped me stay on track and guided me in the right direction. Meet with your doctor!!!! There are tons of resources out there to help you. You just need to be the one to take the steps to get help, if you want it. Best of luck to you!
