Just read the recommended newbie posts. WOW!
My daughter found this site and got me on it, so I really kinda just did the quick-start method. I thought I had enough knowledge, and that this was just going to be a faster, easier method of doing the tracking and the math. I have seldom been more wrong!
In my intro post, I described my eating habits and the issues associated with them. Then I read those posts and saw myself in the "here's how to do everything wrong" section. Stop/start "dieting", days of eating nearly nothing puncuated by binge days, only eating once a day and right before bed, eating tons of simple carbs...I'm glad I was born with a good metabolism, cause it seems I did pretty much everything possible to try and wreck it! At least now I know all is not lost. With the information in the posts, maybe I can teach my body to remember how to be strong and fit.
