Ok, so my fiance has been jonesin for some Mexican food. Since we normally go where I want, I've agreed to go. We usually go to a local place and split cheesy chicken nachos which is just chips, queso, chicken, peppers and onions. How can I measure my portions and figure out the calories for this? Any advice would be very much appreciated.

A portion of corn chips is 10 chips. 140 cals, 9 g of fat. (Look up corn chips in Food). The cheese on that many chips will vary, but to be safe, assume it is one ounce = cheddar = 1 oz. 100 cals, 7g fat (look up cheese in Food)

count the chips (fairly high calorie), estimate the cups of cheese sause, and add a few ounces of chicken.

Maybe you should pick something better with more chicken, maybe a wrap?

Fajitas, no tortillas and limit toppings is always a good choice. But if you have the calories or want don't mind going over in a day, which happens to all of us then just log each portion in, it will be close enough. We all go over once in a while. Just drink lots of water to help rinse out the sodium.

I read in my Eat This Not That book that chicken enchiladas are one of the best things you can order on the menu.

Thank GOD! I love chicken enchiladas! And I so want that book!

Thank you so much for the help guys! Going out to eat always throws me off my diet. I don't know how to measure my calories so I just give up. MFP has made things so much easier and I really appreciate your help. :)
