Weekends are bad for everyone! Just try to have a little something to eat before going out so you are not tempted to over eat. If you are hosting the parties try to serve heathly alternatives, veggies, salsa, etc. Ther are lot of low cal recipes appetizers. Also try and plan before going out to restaurants. Check out the menu online and nutritional info (if they have one listed). That way you can plan out your meal before you get there.
Good luck, its a challenge for us all.
Feel free to add me if you like!

I slipped a LOT at first on weekends, but then I just stopped eating a lot of the snacks people put out. I grab a glass of water (with or without lemon juice) rather than a soda. I eat a few chips rather than bowlsful at a time, things like that. It can be done!!!

This is my vice as well. I try to eat before I go out to keep myself from ordering food. If I am going to go out to eat, I find out where we are going and plan my meal ahead of time and stay away from fried foods. You can add me if you like.

I also allow myself one cheat meal - not a whole day - a week. Others may not recommend this but for me it works esp if we are going somewhere special and I don't want to deprive myself.

Hey, you have taken the first step. Each change helps so keep telling yourself that. I agree with the others. Planning ahead when you know you are going out helps. Then you can add the meal here (or as close as you can get) and see how it works in your plan. Also if you can't plan ahead, grilled without sauce things and just veggies are usually good. Also don't totally deprive yourself sometimes. I think of this as a 'life style change' because I'm going to continue to eat healthy. Think of it as 'getting healthy'. Once you change your mind set you will see how you eat changes. Good luck!

Hi and Thank You for your great advice. . ...I try to order grilled over fried ..but then out comes the dinner rolls/buns and it is so tempting when everyone else is eating them . . ...and then I tell myself .. ."Oh just one won't hurt" ... ..perhaps . ..I have to overcome that little voice inside my head and remember my goal ...Have a great weekend! T.

I agree with the 'plan ahead' approach. Once you see how many calories that roll and butter get logged as, you may not want them so much any more!
