So I'm sure like me all of you like to go out to dinner. Now on this journey that is not always easy. I thought I would share my experience from tonight. The temptation of ordering like I used to is still there but I found a way to still be "good". We went to Uno's tonight...mmmmm, pizza! First of all I searched their menu online, and to my surprise found a list of healthy options, broken downs into many categories including the one I was looking for "Under 500 calories". I had about 900 calories left for the day.
Here is what I ordered: Cabot-aged cheddar and mushroom burger (450 calories), roasted seasonal veggies (80 calories), and a house salad with fat free vinagrette dressing (120 calories). I had water with lemon to drink. So I walked out of there eating a 650 calorie meal.

Ordinarily I would have ordered an appetizer, an entree and probably dessert with a couple of beers or a mixed drink and racked up around 3,000 calories and have to be rolled out of the restaurant. I hope this helps because I know for damn sure it makes this journey a whole lot easier for me!

Wow - great job! I like to look ahead at nutritional info online if I know I'm going out to eat, to pre-plan what I'm going to order. It's insane the amount of calories restaurant food is....

It was delicious...cooked perfectly and well-seasoned. And I didn't miss the french fries! The roasted veggies were really good.

Nice quote, I used to have to hear that one every morning in a daily sales meeting for like 2 years! But it is absolutely the truth.

Great idea to research, and go prepared. Especially when we live in a world where everything is at your fingertips, no one has the excuse of not knowing what they're getting into. Great show of self control!
