Don't know about anyone else but I have a bit of a mfp addiction! Fantastic site, made loads of friends who are the best support and motivation i've ever ever known BUT....I really need to remember that not all my friends are into weight loss and fitness
I have got to the point where im always talking about mfp or food or exercise and i dont want my friends and family to start backing up and running off when I approach for fear of being bored to death  I know they're all supportive but Im really trying to keep it real and keep being the fun Fran everyone knows :drinker: ....does anyone else know where im coming from?

I do know what you mean Fran...... that why I no longer talk to anyone that isnt on MFP!
kidding of course, but its hard not to talk about something that your excited about. Human nature I suppose! One thing is for sure, you are not boring us! ;-)0 -
Absolutely and I almost fell into that trap too but the thing to remember is, that's why MFP is here, you can talk about weight loss fitness etc until your heart is content here so that when you see your friends and family you have it all 'out of your system' and can enjoy your time with them in a different way.  :happy:0

I think it's because this site actually seems to work!! I'm talking about it incessently to my poor husband - but that's all. So he bears the brunt of my fascination!! :laugh:0

Glad im not boring ya Carl!!!
Yes I agree sunshine....mfp is great to get it out yr system....I still find myself raving about the site though!!! Gona try and not really talk about it unless people ask!! :noway:0 -
I have to say that I don't have that problem yet, but I will let you know if it comes to that.....all I do is talk about it now and more times than not, I find more and more that people are interested and want to know about it....I have gotten many people to join...it is such and amazing and user friendly tool which is important to people who are on the go.....but maybe my family and friends will be done hearing me talk about it in a few months...at least you have us to talk to about it compulsively....LOL:noway:0

I am obsessed with it as well! I talk about it constantly. I joined almost three years ago (have had two babies since then) and am still plugging away at it. Doesn't seem like I've scared too many people away. I've actually encouraged several people to join. Not necessarily by telling them they should, but just by taking about my success and how easy it is. I try to only discuss it a little at a time...more with people that are really interested in my success...and just tiny blurbs with people I think could really care less. I guess mostly I talk about it with my husband, but he is also a member so he gets it...although he's not obsessed. He gets on, logs his food, gets off...I don't think he's ever read a single thread...that I didn't show him of course!
OT - speaking of my husband...he actually hit his goal weight last week!!! He has reevaluated and decided to go another 10 pounds...but still...he hit his goal weight!!! So happy for him. And proud of him!!!0 -
My 5 year old son has starting saying things like: How many calories are in that mom? Does that have too many calories for you? :noway:
On one had, yes, I need to tone it down because I don't want my kids OBSESSED about it. However, I think getting involved with MFP has been a great way for me to talk to my son about these issues. I make sure to tell him that I'm doing it to be HEALTHY and not to be SKINNY. Also, I think it's great for the kids to see me exercise.
Hopefully I can raise them to be concious about what they put in their bodies and how they treat themselves so they don't have to go through the arduous journey that is weight loss!0
