First 5k and TOM

Just started this morning. A little concerned because mine can be debilitating. My second day is usually the worst with tylenol/ibuprofen around the clock. I've been planning this for two months though so I am going. If I am in pain, I am hoping it will subside when runner's high kicks in. I'm wondering if I should attempt to not take the tylenol/ibu. Anyone raced while starting TOM? Any tips/thoughts? Thanks.

I think you will be fine if you take some before you go for your 5k- roughly 45minutes (depending on your endurance level and speed) and then you are done...then you can go to the after party, and celebrate that you didnt let TOM keep you down!!0

That stinks! I think you'd be fine to take some advil about an hour before the race! And maybe hang out with a heating pad on before you leave your house for the race! I just ran this morning just under 3 miles on the worst day of TOM...and mine can be pretty bad too!! You can do it! Don't let it hold you back!0

Yeah, I hate running on my second day too, but I still do!!!! If I don't hit my target pace, it's ok, I just am happy to be done with it!!! Then go home and take a nice long shower and relax and enjoy all those extra calories you've earned!!!!0
