My girlfriend and I are having a bbq / house warming party. We are looking for some healthy food to server at this bbq. Does anyone have any suggestion on what we could server.
Thank you in advance.

Any kind of grilled kabobs with veggies. Chicken, beef etc with some peppers, onions, mushrooms.
A nice summer fruit salad, or spinach salad. You could even make fruit kabobs and have a nice yogurt dip with it.
Congrats on your new house!!0 -

Grilled Veggies, Fresh Fruit & Veggies, Instead of Buns for hamburgers get the THINS (thats what we buy because we are a low gluten house) 7 layer Dip and salsa (avoid queso, especially canned/jarred) which tortilla chips are healthier then potato chips. Choose lean beef and make your own hamburger patties, avoid brats (look up the calorie content on one and youll see why I say this, as a Brat lover)0

I just made cole slaw today for a cook out and it is very low in calories. I hand shredded cabbage, carrots and added fresh herbs from the garden. To bind the slaw together I use plain greek yogurt, paprika, a touch of lemon juice and a touch of Worcestershire sauce. Use just enough of the wet ingredients to bind the slaw. Let set in refrigerator over night so that moisture is pulled from the cabbage. Mix well, top with a bit more paprika and serve.
Also, deviled eggs. I use plain greek yogurt, 2 teas. horseradish, 2 teas. spicy mustard and a pinch of paprika to bind the cooked egg yolks.
Fruit salad. Sugar free or low sugar fruit cocktail, and mix in chopped nuts, coconut, and sour cream. Chill until ready to serve.
Also, hard cheeses only run about 70 calories an oz. and sliced pepperoni is fairly low in moderation. Serve with mustard/garlic sauce.
Hope my ideas help

I had good grilled asparagus. Not sure if this was the recipe or not but really good.

BBQ'd chicken breasts- marinated in your favourite marinade (I used piri piri sauce) served in 1/2 a pitta pocket with lettuce, onions & natural yoghurt.
Home made burgers with ground turkey, or extra lean ground beef
Cubed tuna steaks, marinated in teryaki marinade and cooked on skewers
Shrimp, red pepper & pinapple skewers in sweet chilli sauce
Swordfish/cod/salmon Fillets topped with green pesto & wrapped in a foil parcel then cooked on the BBQ/in the oven
BBQ'd spicy sweet potatoes, filled with low fat sour cream (Park bake in the oven, then wrap in foil and BBQ. Then split open the potato, sprinkle with cayenne pepper/ jerk seasoning & top with sour cream).
Whole grilled fish, brushed with curry paste.
BBQ'd bell peppers, stuffed with quinoa/cous cous, herbs & spices
Hummus, Tzatziki, spinach & rictotta dip or salsa served with veggies (raw mushrooms, peppers, carrots, cauli, broccoli, cucumbers) & toasted pitta slices.
Big bowl of turkey chilli
Marinated artichokes, olives, peppers- in EVOO with fresh basil, garlic & mint.
Asparagus spears, wrapped with parma ham
Tomato & mozzarella salad with basil
Wholewheat pasta salad with chilli, zucchini (courgette) & parmesan cheese.
Cottage cheese, mixed with sweet chilli sauce- good as a dip.
Puy lentils (or any firm lentil) with feta cheese, red onions, corriander (cilantro) in a dressing made out of EVOO, lemon juice & white wine vinegar.
Smoked salmon & Zucchini carpaccio- raw strips of zucchini with fresh chilli peppers, lemon juice, basil, cilantro & smoked salmon slices.
Drizzle with natural yoghurt.

You're welcome )
We have a fair few BBQ parties- and have used all the above at some point or another. A lot of the dishes I eat as evening meals too- you can do them in the oven/ on the grill (broil ? in US speak).
Having the shrimp (use extra big king prawns) and pinapple skewers for dinner this week with courgette (zucchini) 'noodles'.0
