Hi all,

I've been at this for a few months...and I've been "stuck" for a bit. I did seem to break through a plateau recently. Now, I'm going to be on vacation. I'm not wanting to totally cut loose and relax, due to just breaking the plateau, but I do want to relax and have fun too. What have you done when you are out of your normal daily routine? Suggestions welcome. I do plan to stay as active as possible, probably by walking and maybe swimming.....but it won't be like my usual work outs.

thoughts?

Thanks.

I'm in the same situations in a couple weeks, so I'm curious to hear what peeps have to say! Have fun on your vay-cay! :drinker:

I had to leave town for a few days and that meant not doing my p90x. So when I ate meals, I made it a point to eat a salad before the entree, smart entree choices and just say no to dessert unless it was fresh fruit. I didn't gain a pound and even had some fried oysters one night! You know what to do; have fun, but don't go overboard. You will be fine.

Find ways to keep your activity up there. It's kind of a trade off to the relaxation on foods. Plan ahead as much as possible. If you know you're going to go out one night and the chances are high you will eat or drink more than usual, find a way to be more active that day. Make your food choices carefully. Is that
(fill in the blank) going to taste good enough to add 30 minutes to your workout when you get home- or to work that extra activity into your day? Make other things the focus of your vacation- not food.

And most of all- have fun!

I'm not sure what kind of vacation you're going on, but if it's to a cabin or something like that, buy lots of fresh fruit and vegetables and eat those - when it's sunny out, it feels so good to eat fresh fruit when you're grilling meat. If it's to a tropical island or something where you have to eat at buffets, take advantage of the salad bars and fruit, and take small amount of the fried and cooked foods. That's just my suggestions! Good luck!

Dont worry too much about it. I went on vacation for two whole weeks and only gained 2 pouds. And believe me those extra two pounds were easy to work off thinking about all the fun I had. Good luck staying on track and being active while away, but I bet youll be ok.
