Holiday Long Weekend Saturday.
Decided to try a little experiment.
I would eat carefree today.

Guided by opportunity with friends and a desire to celebrate a sunny day and let loose a little. I have been faithfully monitoring and tracking and calculating my meals and my calories for 8 weeks now with MFP with a satisfying weight loss of 20 pounds.Happy and content with that.

Today ate good, healthy food - asparagus, rack of lamb, feta cheese, fiddleheads, arugula and tomato salad, a couple squares of dark chocolate, some red wine, a marguerita, a little cheese , a little proscuitto. To the effect of almost 1800 calories over goal!!!!!!!

No guilt. No regret. No bad feelings. I enjoyed every bite with reckless abandon.
But tomorrow I will resume the healthy habits that I have learned with MFP.
And what I gained from today is an honest realization of how important it is to make mindful food choices. It is so easy to fall off course if you don't. Like I said, no regrets, just a smug happiness that tomorrow is a new day and I can continue my weight loss journey feeling empowered with the tools and the support that I have here.

We all have those days! Good for you for knowing to pick up on your "weight loss" mindset again tomorrow. I think that's the difference between those who take the weight off for good and those who give up...they know they need to get back to it.

fiddleheads...wow I haven't had that since I was a kid! Oh the memories of going to the parks with my parents to pick them. Yeah Toronto/Durham Parks. LOL!!

    Everyone deserves a cheat day!

What a great attitude. I agree this is the kind of thing that sets apart those who have changed their lifestly, as opposed to those who are on a 'diet'. Well done :)
