Staying in the calorie range.

Hey I'm kind of new to using this website and I'v been seeing a lot of success stories. To lose a lot of weight are you VERY strict with your diet or will u go over about 60 calories on accident? Because normally that's what happens to me and I want to be just as successful as everyone else. How strict are you with staying in your calorie range? What are your eating habits like?

I try to stay under my calorie goal but more than 1200 (starvation mode). I know from past weight loss history that eating too little and exercising like crazy was why I would fail so I am trying to maintain balance. If I have a party day, I have fun and get back under goal the next day!0

Do you manage to stay under your goal everyday consistantly? im having a hard time getting used to it!0

I'm not that strict really, though I can't seem to hit my calorie goal after exercising. I usually go over on sugars every day between my oatmeal and smoothies. I don't think its a huge deal to go over because your goal is set to assume you don't exercise and I know mine is set to 500 calories less than what my body would need to just do basic function with no exercise. I've lost 11 lbs in 2 weeks so far. If you think its going to be an issue, though, just go for a 20 minute light walk or something to get yourself below.0

That probably depends on the person and how much weight they need to lose. I oscillate between being 150 under to fewer than 100 over. Really, that depends on the day and how much I've worked out. I usually don't go over, though.
Since I have a LOT to lose, and I'm very short, I don't get as much wiggle room as other people. If I were consistently 60 over, I wouldn't lose at the rate I'm losing right now. For other people, it probably wouldn't matter as much.0 -

If you are really close, like 60-100 calories, go for a 15 minute walk and it'll help make up the difference. I stay under my goal, but my food calorie limit is pretty generous at 1460 cal a day and with my high fiber diet it's a struggle to eat enough to even match that.0 -
Thanks for all the input. I don't exercise much right now like i used to. as soon as i move into our new house i'll get my Dance Your *kitten* off DVD out and start using it again to help stay under. i'll take your advice and go for a walk now that it's getting nicer out0

I believe that you would still lose. What did you set up your initial weight loss goal per week as? mine is to klose the recommended 1lb a week so I have a 500 cal a day deficit. If yours is the same and you are going over by 60 a day you may lose 0.9lb a week or something like that0

I loooooooove food! I am over by like 300 calories on some days, somehow I still lost 63lbs
and I'm still going!
This has been a horrible week for me due to TOM *sigh*
