As I have said before, I'm a bulimic who is trying to lose weight the healthy way. However, that is a lot harder than it seems. Life gets rough, stress goes up, and old habits die hard. Recently, I've be undergoing a lot of stress. I was going through finals, changing jobs, and realizing the boy I am completely in love with may not be the one for me. I'm hurting. When I get stressed, I am more tempted to purge. This time is no different. I got really stressed and I started slipping. My mindset changed. I became obsessed with my body, weight, and food. I was exercising more, eating barely anything, and purging at least once a day. I was actually scared of how I was acting. This has gone on for like a week and a half. Well, I weighed myself today after this weird regime, and I lost three pounds. Not water weight either. Legit pounds. Now, I can't help feeling my regime is working and that I can continue it. I desperately want to lose this weight and I never seem to be able to do it the healthy way. Does anyone have any feedback for me? Negative, positive, mean, sweet. I just need some thoughts.

I really think you should try talking to a therapist about this. I was a stress/emotional eater. Never could force myself to purge, and loved food WAY too much to be anorexic. BUT self esteem comes from within, and once you feel good about yourself you can lose weight more easily the healthy way. Try to remember that the stress hormone, cortisol, actually makes you gain or hold on to fat and weight. I've been going through a lot of stress recently as well with my husband losing his job and almost dying, then losing my own job just 3 days after he got out of the hospital. My solution has been to get my butt to the gym and exercise until the stress either goes away, or I'm too tired to care. I've lost 25 lbs in 8 weeks and still dropping. The right way DOES work, if you let yourself relax and let go of the stress.0
