It will totally depend on who's doing the running - i.e., current weight and heart rate during running. Do you have a heart rate monitor?

That depends on your weight and speed you do it in. Everyone is different.

That really depends on a lot of factors.

The speeds you run and walk, and your VO2 rate, also any inclines you may be going up or down.

It would be best to use a Heart rate Monitor that can tell you the calories more accurately. Something like a Polar FT4, FT6, FT7, or FT40.

I'm going to start week 4 tomorrow. Good Luck!
  • Before I got my HRM (heart rate monitor), I entered 8 minutes (into MFP's exercise calculator) at what ever speed I was running (jogging), and then 20 minutes at what ever speed I walked. I did the first time on my treadmill so that I could compare the calories burned to what MFP said.

I burned 140, but it will vary depending on factors such as how fit your are, gender, how fast you run, how tall you are, how heavy you are, how much your stride "bounces" when running &c.

yikes! a lot of factors to consider. and i've been using a friend's "broken" treadmill so none of the functions work (i can only walk/run - i can't tell how fast i'm going, my heart rate, incline it, etc.). i guess i'll have to invest in a heart monitor and track it that way. thanks everyone!
