So, I'm new here! I'm excited! I just downloaded the app on my phone and I love how it's so easy to manage! I'm 26, live in Florida (RIGHT by the beach) and there's nothing worse than feeling too insecure to go out there especially because of your weight. I've had two friends in the past year that have had gastric bypass surgery and they look fantastic and I'm so jealous! I definitely DO NOT want to have surgery. No offense to anyone who has, just not what I want for my life. I feel as if I NEED to have self control over my weight. I've focused more on my career than my health and I'm just ready to focus on me. After many failed attemps at dieting, my doctor put my on Phentermine. I've never taken any medication for weight loss and I was hesistant but I do want to try it because I've heard great things about it. I started it Friday and I've already noticed a difference. I'm drinking LOTS more water which is surprising because if I could have an IV for diet coke I probably would. Ladies, can I get a witness?!?! :) I drank like 140oz of water yesterday (mostly because of the dry mouth that Phentermine causes). I understand this isn't a long term medication, but I feel as though if I can just get a jump start I can continue. I'm ready to fit in skinny clothes. So anyway, I'm a great encourager and I'm looking to meet some great people who can share this journey with me! Thanks!!!

    Hi Im 26 and live across the pond here is sunny Scotland. Not that we have weather for bikini's but I certainly would not be sporting one even if we did. Just started this mfp today so feeling geared up. Feel free to add me!

    Oh how I miss the beach. Born and raised in South Florida, but have lived in Colorado for the last 17 years. Mountains are great and I love them, but..... Anyway, I have only been on MFP for about a month and love it. Welcome.

    Hey! Wishing you loads of luck... I have lost a lot of weight... and I get asked even by Drs. if I had surgery... Which I find offensive since I didn't and they look at me like "yeah right"... I am more than happy for those people who have and had success. If you need a friend who has been there, feel free to add me!

    Art4fun69: What a transition!!! Florida to Colorado!!! I bet it's beautiful. I HAVE NEVER seen snow. I'm so deprived. ;) Thank you very much! And congrats on the weight loss!!! :)

    Madslimjim: I hear ya on the bikini!! I don't blame you! I absolutely LOVE the beach and I rarely go, but when I do I pick the empty spots and trust me-I never wear a bikini! We will get there though!!! And we'll rock those bikini's!!!

    Adfranks: Thanks so much for the welcome! And congrats on your weight loss!! That's incredible!! I can totally understand why you would find that offensive! My friends have even told me that I better have the surgery because there is no way I can do it on my own. I'm delighted to take that challenge! :)
