So my roommate bought 3 gallons of milk and only drunk about half of one, so now we have 2.5 gallons of milk with a sell-by date of May 23 (tomorrow) I HATE wasting food, so I wanna do something with it. Can you guys help me come up with something to do with this 2.5 gals of milk in the next few days?!?!

Also, Happy Harvey Milk Day!

A big batch of pudding would use up a bunch of that.

I didn't know it was Harvey Milk Day! Happy HM Day!

First, a Sell-By is not the same as a Use-By, so you have a few days beyond the 23rd if you've kept the milk properly refrigerated.

I tend to drink between 2.5 and 3.5 cups of skim milk a day. 2 lattes and then some in a protein powder smoothie.

Can you make any recipes with the milk and then freeze them?

I regularly make some Peanut Butter dog treats that use 1 cup of milk per batch. They freeze really well, too! Also make great gifts for anyone you know who has a dog. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/186547-homemade-dog-treats

If it was kept cold then you can drink it for ten days after the date!~!~!

Make some smoothies!~! Or Latte's .... buy some healthy cerial and have breakfast for the next few days.

Make homemade icecream!~!~!~!~!~!~! google it.. do it, do it... it will be fun~!~!

You could make yogurt. Easier to do than you might think! Google for directions...you can even make it in the crockpot. Also, you can strain it afterwards to thicken it up to greek yogurt consistency.

Pretty sure you can freeze it! Or, make smoothies and freeze them.. or the pudding, or really any dish and freeze it?

Make quiche. Mix 2 cups milk with 2 eggs, 2 Tbsp flour (to hold everything together) and add in some veggies or a little cheese.
Pour into a lowfat store bought crust or make your own. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. You can also freeze the quiche after it is baked.
