I've read a few posts on here about protein shakes helping muscles after strength workouts, but I was wondering if that is something you should do after any workout, cardio included (specifically zumba, fitness yoga, things like that)

Also, do you guys bring bottled protein shakes (any suggestions? I don't know of any besides special K and I read those aren't very good for protein)

Or do you make powdered shakes when you get home from the gym? Do you bring powdered drinks with you to the gym? How much are you supposed to drink?

I'm pretty confused about the whole thing...I hope someone knows more about it and can help me :) I want get the most I can and help my body, I am just not sure what I need to do that!!

Protein is necessary when you're ripping/tearing muscle to build muscle. Not necessary when you're doing fat burning type exercise. I asked the same question recently of a good friend in the "muscle building" side of this! It also adds alot of calories which kept me away from them to begin with.

Your muscles are very receptive to the protein immediately following a workout, any workout.

I make my own - I don't use powder, just frozen strawberries, plain greek yogurt and a bit of honey -- YUM!! I'm pretty boring but you can use any combination of fruit.
