I have been using MFP for about two months and have happy with my results  I have been pestering my mom to make an account and try this since I started. After I weighed in this week and was down again[ ], she finally asked if I was gonna make "one of those thingies" for her. So I did. Here is her deal: She is 53 and is a fab mom (two boys and me, all in our 20's) and adoring grandmother. She always puts our (my brothers, my dad, my niece and nephew, sister in law, and me) needs and wants before her own. She has always been active, but slowly back problems have been worsening and slowing her down and making it hard to get/ keep the weight off. I think she would be more likely to use the site on her own, and be more encouraged overall, by like minded people that she can relate to than by her nagging daughter. If she sounds like someone you would like to friend, she is Grandma1958.

  • You don't sound like a nagging daughter; you sound like a caring daughter! I'll be happy to add her as a friend.

You are such a good daughter!
I got my mom on here, but she doesn't use it. I'll have to bug her more...prove that it's a good thing to talk to people even if you don't know them.

I can't convince my mom to use the computer. Separated by half a country, I thought this would be a good way for us to support each other, but now that I have taught her to shop online, she doesn't seem to think she needs to learn anything else.
