OK, here it goes, grocery store bound for the Jump Start with Atkins. Yep, it worked once, and it will again, why I failed, FAMILY!!!!!! STRESS!!!! MY JOB !!!!!!!! EXCUSES.

I have 14 dyas to get a jump start.

I haven't lost anything this week.

Still at 220 and yes, I am walking almost every night and doing the yoga ball and small weights 3-4 nights a week???

Just stuck.

I have been reading on Atkins off and on all weekend.

NO MORE Excuses!!! :noway:

I am at the same point. I weigh 219 and have been there over a month. Hopefully this week will be different, REALLY hoping!

    Good luck with the Atkins!!!
  • Drink lots of water with Atkins. My mother (78 yrs old) was doing Atkins when I was a little girl. She would diet with Atkins for a special occasion then after the occasion she would be "done" and regain it all back. She would do this every year until she was finally diagnosed with Gall Stones. Now she is a diabetic and blames it on the Yo Yo dieting. She has told me to becareful because I have followed in her footsteps somewhat. She has been put on a 1000 to 1200 calorie a day count of calories for which she now is little & skinny

I love the "kick start" that Atkins can provide & you never feel hungry:tongue: but...I still like my carbs. So it's either all you can eat Protein of which is from the Earth or Calorie Counting with Every day nutrious foods (or not:laugh: )

I'm at a stand still too & have thought about the same thing. It's just so hard to start Atkins but once you do your hooked:happy:

So...do one or the other but don't do both or you shall surely gain weight:cry:

So good luck you all & drink your water ...for your Liver's sake.
  • Or was it the Kidney's sake? :grumble:

Anyone who stops eating carbohydrates and then starts eating them again will re-gain weight, but not in the form of fat (unless they're overeating).
Blood sugar is stored in the body as glycogen, looooooooong strings of glucose molecules stuck together. It's primarily stored in the liver, but also in the muscles. The point of Atkins is to deplete those sugar stores so you don't have to 'burn through them' before you can get to the fat (although that's a little flawed, but that's a different story haha). Once those are depleted, you lose a lot of weight from the loss of glycogen and the resultant loss of water (to which glycogen binds during storage).
Once you eat carbohydrates again, you begin storing glycogen again, so it's not uncommon to gain 5-10 lbs from the glycogen and water. It's not fat, it's just weight.
