Exercise and mental health

I just have to say that exercise is not only good for the body, it's also good for the mind.
I get depressed and it seems rather easily. I haven't worked out since Tuesday of last week and already I'm feeling the effects from it. I've been rather down on myself the last couple of days, not liking myself too much, feeling lethargic, sad, and just not well in general.
So, that being said if you don't want to exercise for your physical health, exercise for your mental health!!
I'm proof positive that exercise aids in healing depression!
Thanks all. Have a beautiful day!

I totally agree with you! I don't suffer from depression but have some anxiety issues. If I go a few days without a good, hard workout, I get more anxious and on edge. My husband will even tell me I need to go do a good workout and I will feel better, so he can tell the difference as well.0

Hey I've been there, so I totally understand. There was a week when I didn't do anything. No desire, to motivation, no will power. But I had to force myself to get up and push play to get past that. I never want to workout, but I always feel so much better afterwards. I'm also trying a protein shake with fruit for more energy before my workout. I hope this helps.0

I have found that walking (especially outside) is a good time to think and reflect on everything thats going on in my life.
Its also a good time for prayer!0 -

that is good that your husband can see when you need to do something to feel better. Sometimes I think my hubby is scared to say anything, thinking I will just get angrier!0 -

That is good that he recognizes that and I think the same thing about my husband too. haha...0 -
Dont get depression or annything from not working out but I will get mad and/or frustrated rly rly fast if something annoying happens like bumping my toe or dropping something, if something like that happends I can rly throw out some curse words but if I work out on a decent level I dont have that problem at all.0
