MFP and Clean Eating

Hi - I am a 52 year old stay at home grandma - I just discovered MFP and love it. I was using another online website but this one is soo much nicer! I am within 5 lbs of my goal weight again (I gained a few pounds over the winter) and need to use MFP to stay accountable. MFP helps me to track calories (portion control) as well as protein, carb and fat requirements. I follow the eat clean diet and I am stronger, healthier and leaner than I have ever been.

    The eat clean principles are to avoid all over-processed foods - especiallly whte flour and sugar.
    Avoid chemically charged foods and foods containing preservatives.
    Avoid artificial sugars.
    Avoid artificial foods like processed cheese and lunchmeat.
    Avoid sugar loaded beverages like sodas and juices.
    Avoid alcohol.

    I eat 5 small meals a day. - I am careful with portion sizes. That is why I love this site for tracking...
    I eat a combination lean protein and complex carb at each meal.
    I drink 2 - 3 liters of water a day.

    I recommend reading The Eat-Clean Diet Recharged book by Tosca Reno. Actually I recommend all her books.
