One step at a time!

I was just offered a telemetry job interview four hours from home and instantly got excited, nervous, anxious, and a bit frustrated. Thoughts are racing:
What if I get the job?
Please please please I want a job!
But moving is annoying and being that far away is a tigde scary.
What if I don't get the job?
I am so tired of applying and waiting and hoping and interviewing and waiting and hoping and still no job.
What about the NSICU job? I REALLY wanted that one, and still no word and the stinking recruiter seemed just as confused as I feel...
I stupid long drive and stupid gas prices.
What if I get offered the job, take it and don't love it and then get offered something better? Then what?
So I stopped and took a deep breathe and pointed out to myself that I am being a spazz. The only thing I can do is go and try to do well! And do my best at each time an opportunity presents itself, until I get what I want. The same holds true for dieting and working out and about a billion other things. AND I find it more gratifying, because with a workout, your best keeps getting better! So everyone do your best and keep trying, even if you have doubts and frustrations! Just thought I'd share!

haha you sound just like me! I will completely spazz over every "what if" until I practically talk myself out of everything. My boyfriend teases me about it all the time, but realizing I do it helps a lot.
I always try to calm myself down by asking, "what's the worst that could happen," then going through it in my mind. Like I was planning to move to another state and was terrified, so I thought of the "worst" what ifs...I don't like it, I'm lonely, I don't find the job I want, my son hates it, it's too expensive, etc. Then I asked myself, OK, what will I do if that's the case? Worst case scenario I move back home, and am back where I started. I can totally live with that consequence. So I moved (and I love it!).
It's good you have the insight to relax yourself
Good luck with whatever ends up happening - and just focus on progressing in your life!0 -
Congrats on the job offer! I know you're overwhelmed right now, so take some time and sort out the pros and cons of it. Honestly, in this economy, I'd probably be inclined to go for it. Four hours is close enough to be able to visit friends and family fairly regularly. However, you have to weigh the benefits for yourself. You've got a great attitude though, and that'll get you far in life. Good luck with whatever you decide to do!0
