Hello all!

I feel as if I've been in a losing battle with weight loss for the last 8 months or so. Last year I was put on a very low-carb diet because I was diagnosed with a fatty liver. Within about two months I lost 30 pounds. I thought it was amazing that I lost weight that fast and was set for beach season. I kept the weight off for the entire summer, but was still watching what I was eating.
In the fall I was told that my liver was back to normal and I did not have to worry about watching my carbs anymore. I also went on depo-provera. Within about three months I gained about 25 pounds back. I am not completely blaming the depo because I have been on it before and did not gain weight.
After doing some research I realized most of the weight I lost was water weight and it easily came back with a vengeance.

Currently I am trying to follow a more balanced diet, not eating out as much, and not drinking alcohol on the weekends if it can be helped. I have cut out soda and other sugary beverages completely and no sweets (except the occasional piece of chocolate).

Sometimes I just get really frustrated and after looking into all the weight loss websites, I realized this one seemed to be the most friendly and helpful since it is not catering to people that are trying to become body builders or willing to pay $32 a month to post on forums.

I also work in retail which can make dieting difficult and frustrating because the hours are always different, so I can never eat lunch or dinner at the same time everyday. It's also hard to have in between snacks during busier times.

I am also attempting to get through the INSANITY program from Beachbody that I borrowed from a friend. I made it through the first week or so and then was injured and bruised my ribs >.< so it has not been easy to exercise.

But that's a bit about me :)

    Welcome!

This site can be a great resource to keep you motivated and accountable. It's pretty easy - you just post what you did every day. That's not hard.

And then you can begin to see how your choices affect your health.

It's a great tool for me. I'm on a journey to get healthy, so even though I've been stuck on a plateau for 10 days, I'm going to keep on going, because in the end I'll be healthy and feel better. And weight loss is just the added plus to that.

I also have hit some plateaus, but the fact that I feel better everyday keeps me going. :)
