BP meds lowering heart rate

Ok...I have lost 40 pounds since I was put on my blood pressure medications. I am on 3 of them because being on 1, even 2 didn't work. So now I am on 3! They are attenelol, amiloride w/ HCTZ, and Cardezem. I found out today why my heart rate has been so low. My blood pressure meds! I knew they were keeping my BP down, but I never thought about them keeping my pulse down. I am going to my doctor to see if I can come of of at least one of them. I can do a minute of jumping jacks and my heart rate only goes to 110 or so. My sister, who is the same size as me, her heart rate will get up to 160!! I did Jillian's 30 ds yesterday and only burned 120 calories. The highest my heart rate got was 115. I would be burning so many more calories if my heart rate was higher.

Have any of you that are on blood pressure meds experienced this?

I was put on Atenolol for a erratic pulse- not quite sure what caused it, but as soon as my cholesterol levels dropped and I lost some body fat, I was able to go off it. I am on b/p medicine too - Diovan HCT. Two years ago, I joined a gym and started getting in shape. Within 3 months, I was able to have the dosage lowered, but since I've gained it all back, the dosage went back up- but I'm looking forward to getting it down again. Chances are, for me, that I won't be able to go off b/p meds altogether as my high b/p started when my BMI/body fat and cholesterol were perfect.

I asked this question concerning beta blockers for my HBP some months back. I got some interesting answers that you might find useful. Here's the link:
